Role SummaryThe Senior General Accountant supports PACCAR Financial's reporting and close activities, oversees key accounting processes, partners cross-functionally with Treasury and Corporate Consolidations, and leads continuous improvement across accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities, including timely journal entry preparation with emphasis on Cash and Intercompany transactions.
- Prepare month-end account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies, unusual balances, and reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Responsible for uploading journal vouchers into the accounting system accurately and on a timely basis.
- Responsible for maintaining Corporate's intercompany/advance account with other PACCAR divisions.
- Assist with Canadian operation during month-end preparing journal vouchers and reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Assist with external and internal audits and provide supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Contribute to special projects that require technical accounting analysis, process improvement, and data-driven recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of two years of relevant accounting or finance experience required.
- Strong technical accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, well-supported work.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
