Responsibilities

  • Support Field Operations with financial insights and analysis, including month-end variance reporting
  • Own multiple Pathology P&Ls and Balance Sheets; collaborate on business plans and profitability analysis
  • Partner with Finance Directors to ensure understanding of Pathology results and underlying drivers
  • Assist in the annual AOP process and monthly forecasting while articulating key variances to management
  • Calculate and ensure timely physician compensation calculations
  • Support month-end close processes and engage in discussions with business partners
  • Monitor capital expenditures against budgets and conduct ROI analysis on major projects
  • Develop reporting systems to aid in strategic business decision-making

Pay Range: $90,000 - $115,000 / year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Please note: The Sr. Financial Analyst position will reside at the Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Secaucus, NJ site.

Basic Purpose: The Senior Financial Analyst performs quantitative analysis in a supporting role for the Finance department and assists with various projects and ad hoc requests.

Responsibilities

  1. Support Field Operations and Managing Directors in providing financial insights and analytical support. This includes but is not limited to: month end variance analysis and reporting of Pathology business, Pathology forecasts and profitability reviews (including cost of testing analytics), volume analysis and reporting, annual AOP preparation, pricing and billing analysis, integration activity analysis, and physician compensation plan analysis and reporting.
  2. Ownership of multiple Pathology P&Ls and Balance Sheets. Partner with Pathology leadership to develop business plans, OM expansion initiatives, and detail analysis/proformas of current and future state profitability.
  3. Partner with Regional Finance Directors and Corporate Finance to ensure accuracy and understanding of Pathology results and key drivers. This includes month end variance analysis, participation in regional calls, integration analysis, outlooks, AOP and ad hoc requests.
  4. Assist in annual AOP process as well as monthly financial forecasting for Pathology business. Gain understanding of variances and articulate drivers to various levels of management. This may be through email, financial calls, or on-site meetings.
  5. Calculate and administer physician compensation calculations. Ensure accuracy to contract and timeliness of payments. Develop modeling of compensation plan changes and initiatives as requested.
  6. Assist Centralized Accounting and Revenue Recognition teams with month-end close, as required. Tasks range from the generation of various journal entries and trend analysis, to the generation of month end financial reports. Participate in preclose and post close discussions with business partners and advise on changes and updates
  7. Monitor, review and approve capital spend verses budget. Assist with ROI analysis on large projects. Processing capital requests including obtaining matrix approvals, generating capital tracking numbers and notifying Asset Management when assets are placed in service. Facilitating asset transfers and disposals.
  8. Support Finance Manager's and Director's with various ad-hoc information requests. Perform routine and special projects as requested to achieve goals of the division and company.
  9. Develop reporting to provide field with information required to make key business decisions. Assist with business cases and financial analysis to support business decisions.


Qualifications

Education:

BA/BS degree in a Finance or Business-related field

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 years relevant Financial Analysis experience, preferably in the medical industry

Other:
  • Strong Excel skills. Knowledge of Database and PowerPoint is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate complex subject matter to a wide variety of audiences
  • Superior organizational, multi-tasking and decision-making skills
