Full Job Description
Amazon Leo is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Financial Analyst to build and run the financial controllership mechanisms for our global Customer Operations organization. This role is critical to ensuring Leo has accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting as we scale from early launch toward full commercial operations.

As a member of our Global Customer Operations (GCOPS) Finance team, you will own the month-end close process for customer operations cost lines, build reporting infrastructure that provides leadership with clear visibility into financial performance, and develop the automated mechanisms that will scale with the business. You will be the person who ensures the numbers are right - and that the organization knows what's driving them.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives on building processes from scratch, has a passion for financial accuracy, and wants to see their work directly influence executive decision-making at a business on the cusp of transformational scale.

Key job responsibilities

- Own the month-end financial close for customer operations - including vendor invoice processing, accrual calculations, disbursement reconciliation, and journal entry coordination with Accounting

- Build, maintain, and continuously improve the financial reporting infrastructure - weekly and monthly business review finance sections, variance analysis, automated bridging tools, and executive dashboards

- Develop and operate the self-invoicing mechanism for outsourced customer service partners, ensuring accuracy targets are met (>98%) and exceptions are resolved promptly

- Create automated financial controls and audit mechanisms - PO tracking, invoice matching, spend vs. forecast monitoring, and anomaly detection across customer operations cost lines

- Produce variance analysis and cost bridges that explain month-over-month and plan-vs-actual movements in plain language for senior leadership

- Support annual and long-range planning cycles by preparing data inputs, validating cost loads, and building supporting analytics for rate card development

- Partner with FinTech and engineering teams to build scalable financial tools - including automated bridging platforms and variable headcount calculator mechanisms

- Identify process improvement opportunities and drive automation initiatives that reduce manual effort and improve data quality across the financial close and reporting cycle

A day in the life

You might start your morning reconciling vendor invoices against accrual estimates, flagging variances for investigation. Mid-morning, you're finalizing the weekly business review finance deck - pulling actuals, computing bridges, and drafting narrative bullets. After lunch, you join a working session with the FinTech team to validate the latest automated bridging tool against your manual calculations. Later, you design the invoicing workflow for a new outsourcing partner. Before wrapping up, you pull together the data package for the upcoming planning cycle - validating rate card inputs and flagging assumptions that need updating.

About the team

You'll join the Global Customer Operations (GCOPS) Finance team within Amazon Leo - one of two finance teams led by this manager, alongside the Commercial Strategy & Planning (CS&P) team. Together, the teams span field services, customer support, cost of payments, bad debt, and multi-year strategic planning across the world, with members in Bellevue/Seattle and London. As Leo scales toward commercial launch, you'll build the financial mechanisms and reporting infrastructure that the organization relies on.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience

- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience

- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse

- Experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting financial results

- 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience

- Experience working with Excel, reporting tools, and large-scale data mining tools, such as Power BI, Python, SQL, or Tableau
