Full Job Description
Role Purpose:
This role is responsible for managing global coordination and optimization of capital planning, budget development, cash flow forecasting, and controls for Capital Projects at Gartner.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Track project-level spend across the global capital portfolio, ensuring alignment between financial systems and project reporting tools
  • Perform variance analysis on actual vs. forecasted capital spend and proactively identify trends, cost overruns, and savings opportunities
  • Produce monthly capital reporting packages, including variance analysis vs. plan/forecast, with clear commentary on drivers and risks
  • Consolidate inputs from multiple stakeholders to support the development of the annual capital budget and long-range plan
  • Analyze historical project data to improve forecasting accuracy and inform future capital investment assumptions
  • Create dashboards and reports (e.g., in Power BI) to provide visibility into capital spend, project status, and key performance indicators
  • Assist in developing and maintaining multi-year capital plans in partnership with IT, Real Estate, FP&A, and regional stakeholders

  • Directly impacts Free Cash Flow by optimizing capital expenditures
  • Ensures we are making strategic investments in the right places with appropriate returns on our tech modernization investments and a best-in-class office space experience for our associates
Relationships: Internal/External: Accounting (VPs, Directors, Managers); FP&A (VPs, Directors, Managers); IT; Real Estate (VPs, Directors)
Key Contacts (External): IT consultants, General Contractors, 3rd party Project and Cost Managers
Education/Certifications:
  • BS in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
Professional Experience:
  • 3+ years working experience in Real Estate/Finance/Accounting/Business
  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning, negotiating with vendors, and Accounting
Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies:
  • Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources; ability to synthesize insights
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced), and familiarity with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, FCCS) and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and analytical skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and influencing skills working with both external and internal customers
  • Able to establish trusted partnering relationships and manage expectations within a very collaborative internal team culture, with key stakeholders and wide range of external consultants and vendors.
  • Able to provide direction to and coordinate with global project team members, anticipate and manage risks, and set appropriate expectations.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 86,000 USD - 118,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
