Position Summary:Amkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced facilities Wastewater Engineer, responsible for supporting the ongoing design, construction, commissioning and operations for our new OSAT facility. This role ensures compliance with environmental regulations, manages permitting processes, maintain and optimizes treatment operations, and supports sustainable water management practices to meet production and corporate ESG goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities will evolve throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from design and commissioning to full-scale operations, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to each phase.
- Support the design, installation, and commissioning of wastewater treatment systems for the organic, inorganic waste treatment and BRF facilities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and contractors to ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Oversee daily operation of wastewater treatment plants, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of water quality, flow rates, and chemical usage.
- Permitting: Ensure compliance with the county regulations. Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Support ongoing efforts to develop and secure wastewater discharge permits and related environmental approvals.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce water consumption, improve treatment efficiency, and minimize discharge impact.
- Enforce safety protocols for chemical handling and equipment operation.
- Support corporate sustainability goals and ESG reporting related to water management.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, preferably in semiconductor.
- Strong knowledge of biological, chemical, and physical treatment processes.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and automated monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proficiency in software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Bluebeam).
- Experience in design, construction, commissioning, and start-up preferred.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. and adjust heavy objects.
- Exposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.
- Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.
Location:This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.
