OverviewSr. Electrical Engineer (Substation/Physical) - Remote - US
We have an opportunity for a talented & ambitious electrical engineer to join us as our new Sr. Electrical Engineer focusing on physical substation projects. This position can be remote within the United States.
As our Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will lead the engineering effort for new and ongoing projects. You will support multiple projects simultaneously and work closely with NV5 Substation Engineering leadership to ensure project success. You will be working in small project teams to provide exceptional customer service and quality in deliverables to our clients.
Responsibilities
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare conceptual designs and execution plans
- Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
- Perform and document quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
- Prepare construction drawings, documents, calculations, and studies for medium and high voltage substation projects.
- Responsible for technical delivery of power delivery engineering projects or tasks.
- Prepare calculations, studies, and reports for substation and power systems projects meeting internal and client standards and requirements.
- Apply engineering design principles and practices including formulas.
- Work and coordinate with small multi-discipline (Civil, Structural, P&C, Transmission Line) project teams to execute substation projects.
Qualifications
We are seeking the following qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience within substation physical experience.
- Knowledge of substation physical.
- Experience with high voltage substation design (12kV through 500kV).
- Ability to interpret and apply standards including IEEE, IEC, NESC, and client standards.
- Experience with relay settings is a plus.
- Knowledge of Protection and Controls is a plus.
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- PE license is a must.
