The Opportunity

As a key leader within a growing Finance organization, the Senior Director, Revenue & Government Pricing will have end-to-end responsibility for revenue accounting, gross-to-net operations, government pricing compliance, and oversight of key outsourced service providers supporting revenue operations and government pricing. This role will establish and scale the processes, controls, systems, and governance needed to support a growing commercial pharmaceutical business while ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The individual will partner closely with Commercial, Market Access, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, IT, Executive Leadership, and external vendors to drive scalable and compliant business processes while providing analytical and strategic leadership that informs pricing decisions, supports commercial strategy, and optimizes long-term revenue. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys building organizations, processes, and capabilities from the ground up while establishing the commercial finance infrastructure needed to support a growing biotech company.

We anticipate hiring the Sr. Director, Revenue & Government Pricing in September 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of revenue accounting, gross-to-net operations, government pricing, and related commercial accounting activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with senior leadership to evaluate and inform pricing, contracting, reimbursement, and market access strategies, leveraging revenue, gross-to-net, and government pricing insights to optimize business performance.
  • Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for revenue, gross-to-net reserves, accounts receivable, and related balances, including journal entries, reconciliations, analyses, controls, and management reporting.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Market Access, FP&A, Technical Accounting, Legal, and Compliance to support forecasting, contracting, product launches, revenue recognition, and gross-to-net planning.
  • Own the Company's government pricing function, balancing compliance obligations with strategic evaluation of pricing, contracting and market access decisions, while overseeing methodologies, controls, calculations, validations, and submissions across applicable federal and state pricing programs.
  • Serve as the business owner for the outsourced government pricing provider with accountability for service delivery, data integrity, regulatory compliance, service level agreement performance, issue resolution, audit readiness, and ongoing process improvements.
  • Oversee commercial operations performed by third-party partners, including 3PL billing, invoicing, cash application, chargebacks, and accounts receivable activities, ensuring operational effectiveness and financial accuracy.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop and enhance revenue and gross-to-net reporting, analytics, and forecasting capabilities to support internal reporting and business decision-making.
  • Establish, enhance, and maintain scalable processes, systems, policies, and internal controls to support business growth, audit readiness, SOX compliance, and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audit activities and support SEC reporting requirements related to revenue, gross-to-net, and government pricing.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on revenue, gross-to-net and government pricing.
  • Lead special projects and strategic initiatives as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business, CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry, including significant leadership responsibility for revenue accounting, gross-to-net, and government pricing.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and controls and experience supporting SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q).
  • Experience with government pricing platforms and managing outsourced service providers.
  • Supervisory experience directly managing, developing, and coaching team members, including setting priorities, providing feedback, and supporting professional growth.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to present financial information in a meaningful and understandable way.
  • Strong attention to detail; able to balance multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally and periodically conduct business during non-standard hours to support global partners and business needs.

Preferred Requirements
  • CPA and/or MBA.
  • Experience supporting commercial pharmaceutical product launches, including GTN modeling, government pricing readiness, and commercialization processes.
  • NetSuite experience.

  • At Amylyx, we proudly support remote work opportunities within the United States. However, due to business considerations related to health insurance coverage and state tax regulations, we are unable to hire employees who reside and/or work in certain states. Currently, we are not considering applicants from Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Michigan and Tennessee.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who reside in the New England region and can be in person on an as needed basis.
  • If outside of the New England region, you will be expected to travel to our corporate location in Cambridge, MA several times a year and attend other company-related events as necessary and requested, which may include travel by air, driving or public transportation.
  • When working remotely, you must have access to a work setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at your remote location.

The pay range posted below represents our good faith estimate of compensation for this role, based on market data and internal benchmarks. The final offer may vary depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as considerations of internal equity.
