Full Job Description
Labcorp is seeking a Senior Director, Oncology & AP Supply Chain Operations to lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of end-to-end supply chain operations supporting Anatomic Pathology (AP), Molecular Diagnostics, and Oncology testing services.

This leadership role oversees the flow of specimens, reagents, consumables, and laboratory materials across patient service centers, pre-analytical operations, histology, cytology, molecular diagnostics, and genomic testing environments, ensuring operational excellence, quality, regulatory compliance, and reliable support for precision oncology programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a supply chain leader who understands the critical role laboratory operations play in delivering timely, accurate patient results. We welcome professionals with backgrounds in histotechnology, cytotechnology, anatomic pathology, molecular diagnostics, laboratory operations, logistics, or healthcare supply chain management who are passionate about transforming complex operational networks into scalable, efficient, and patient-focused solutions.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities. This hybrid schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week in Burlington, NC supporting both collaboration and flexibility. Up to 50% travel, including domestic and international. Primarily office-based with occasional work in laboratory environments.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for Oncology and AP supply chain operations, including process standardization across patient services, pre-analytics, logistics, and laboratory supply chain functions.
  • Ensure an optimized specimen supply chain from collection through result reporting by improving people, processes, systems, and financial performance.
  • Influence supply chain operational strategy and financial performance while ensuring key business objectives and targets are achieved.
  • Lead the development and utilization of operational analytics, forecasting models, and performance dashboards to identify risks, optimize specimen flow, and improve service levels.
  • Oversee operational due diligence and integration activities for mergers and acquisitions within the AP and oncology space.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness through talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards supporting laboratory operations.
  • Partner across laboratory, operational, commercial, and executive leadership teams to drive enterprise-wide improvements and innovation.
  • People leader of up to 5 direct reports


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Supply Chain, Business, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience leading laboratory, healthcare, supply chain, logistics, or related operations, including at least 2 years at the Director level with responsibility for leading leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting oncology, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, anatomic pathology, or related laboratory operations.
  • 2+ years of direct or indirect People Leadership experience - talent development, performance management, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience driving operational excellence, process improvement, financial performance, organizational change, compliance, and quality initiatives.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, MS, or related discipline).
  • Histotechnologist (HT/HTL) or Cytotechnologist (CT) background with a strong interest in operational leadership, supply chain strategy, or laboratory logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting histology, cytology, anatomic pathology, oncology, molecular diagnostics, or genomic testing workflows.
  • 3+ years of experience in diagnostics, healthcare, laboratory operations, supply chain, logistics, or other complex operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end specimen, reagent, consumable, or laboratory material supply chains.
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, or other continuous improvement methodologies to improve operational performance.
  • Demonstrated success influencing stakeholders and leading large-scale cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of AP laboratory operations, specimen lifecycle management, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
