Pay Grade: 17Job SummaryThe Sr. Director of Food & Nutrition Services serves as the senior operational leader for the Food & Nutrition Services Department within a large healthcare facility. This role oversees all day-to-day foodservice operations, including patient dining, retail, catering, production, and clinical nutrition support. The Sr. Director provides strategic leadership, ensures high-quality service delivery, maintains strong client partnerships, drives financial performance, and leads the development of a large, diverse team.
$10M Managed Volume • $2.2M Retail Sales • 95 FTEs • 6 Managers • Bedside Patient Delivery ProgramKey Responsibilities- Direct overall departmental operations to meet performance goals while operating within the approved budget and maximizing value for the client.
- Ensure all food served-across patient dining, bedside delivery, retail, and catering-is of superior quality, safe, and aligned with healthcare standards.
- Lead safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance programs to ensure regulatory and compliance excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, key stakeholders, and interdisciplinary hospital departments.
- Promote professional development, engagement, and advancement opportunities for all team members across 95 FTEs and 6 managers.
- Foster strong interdepartmental partnerships to integrate Food & Nutrition Services into broader hospital operations and service excellence initiatives.
- Oversee retail strategy and performance, including $2.2M in annual retail sales.
- Drive innovation, service enhancements, and operational efficiencies within a bedside patient meal delivery model.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years of proven leadership experience, with responsibility for large teams and complex operations.
- Two to four years of direct foodservice operational management, including purchasing and inventory oversight.
- Strong understanding of foodservice and healthcare dining trends, with expertise in quality production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
- Experience managing P&L performance and contract foodservice accounts preferred.
- ServSafe® certification a plus.
