Position Summary

This role carries annual Net Sales responsibility of approximately $200m and leads Energizer Holdings’ most globally significant strategic area of the Automotive business.

 

This role is required to be based in Bentonville Arkansas. This pivotal role involves crafting our overarching channel strategies and devising annual business plans to drive growth. This role will be responsible for multiple retail channels with an overwhelming focus on Walmart Automotive.  Responsibilities encompass ownership of annual business plans to deliver the customer and channel P&L, trade fund management, and expense oversight, alongside fostering the expansion of our retailers’ businesses within these channels.  With duties ranging from leading and developing sales initiatives, managing a team of Sr. National Account Manager’s, National Account Managers, this Sr. Director will ensure achievement of Net Sales, Gross Margin dollar and Gross Margin rate budgets while managing trade, allowances, and more within company guidelines.

 

This role also involves significant cross functional leadership through a matrix structure and a requirement to navigate multifunctional and multilayer internal and external relationships all with a thought leadership mindset. 

Responsibilities

Accountabilities

  • Lead colleagues to deliver business needs while developing colleagues in a way that prepares them for further career opportunities within Energizer Holdings, Inc.
  • Develop and implement customer and channel business plans, strategies, and revenue goals, with a focus on driving profitable growth by attaining plan sales goals, planned sales growth, and increased customer transactions.
  • Work with direct reports and cross-functional colleagues to hit key business goals including sales, profitability, new item distribution, share growth, accurate forecasting and more.
  • Work with team to create and maintain expectations for Broker partners, while identifying opportunities for incremental revenue growth and researching, identifying, and developing new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other cross-functional teams on many initiatives including trade spend optimization and profitability initiatives, continuously analyzing the current business portfolio and rationalizing the SKU portfolio.
  • Cultivate strong business relationships internally and externally, and negotiate annual agreements for major accounts, and develop short- and long-term strategies and plans for the development and rollout of new initiatives,
  • Responsible for the sales forecast for assigned customers and addressing shortfalls and risks to plan for account success.
  • Lead (with other Sr. Directors within Commercial) the Energizer Holdings North America Sales and Trade Leadership Team (STLT.)

Work Environment

  • Based in Bentonville Arkansas with a requirement of a minimum of three days a week in the office
  • Travel Requirements (up to 25%)
What we are looking for
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 10 years of relevant business experience (including management experience) with a minimum of 5 years experience in Sales
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with Walmart
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including transparency/candidness
  • Strong analytical skills and capabilities; effective at utilizing Excel (including Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP) for analysis & reporting
  • Strong business acumen required (specifically financial understanding and translating data to insight/action)
  • Strong presentation skills and capabilities; effective at using PowerPoint to develop presentations; ability to deliver compelling, engaging presentations in front of small and large audiences from executive leadership to entry level analyst
  • Experience in leading/implementing change within an organization
  • Ability to influence directly and indirectly; build trust and credibility

  • Previous people leadership experience; outstanding coaching and people leadership capability
