Full Job Description
ASA or FSA Required

Responsible for the development and underwriting of new product financial and programmatic cost models as well as working with the existing models and customers on product enhancements and modifications. This position will work with the strategic business units within the company as well as various departments including the Finance department. This position will report to the VP, Underwriting and will partner with the VP, Underwriting by preparing analyses and various ad-hoc projects for executive management.
  • Develops, documents, and applies, where appropriate, underwriting procedures, analytical approach, and requisite tools for new products and product enhancements, working with all required departments to ensure comprehensive development and evaluation of new products.
  • Reviews utilization, cost trends, and other assumptions that are used in pricing models to ensure accurate interpretation of data.
  • Evaluates cost impact of new product initiatives and assess risk associated with each.
  • Directs, oversees, and coordinates with the Manager, Underwriting to ensure that appropriate underwriting procedures are applied to new and existing business and that responses are timely.
  • Provides recommendations on product and customer rates to review, discuss and send to senior management team for approval.
  • Analyzes claims detail data from multiple in-house claims processing systems, as well as analyzing external claims data in various formats, and complete financial requirements for RFPs (Request for Proposals) and renewals to provide the sales and marketing teams.
  • Interacts with clients/customers and internal staff to resolve issues related to information provided and request for proposal language and response expectations.
