Overview

The Senior Director, Clinical Quality & Accreditation provides enterprise leadership for clinical quality, regulatory compliance, accreditation, clinical standards, and continuous improvement across Amerita. This position establishes and advances programs that promote patient safety, clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, operational consistency, and readiness for accreditation surveys and audits.

The Senior Director partners with clinical, pharmacy, operations, nursing, compliance, sales, and other functional leaders to develop and implement evidence-based standards, policies, procedures, education, auditing, quality improvement initiatives, and performance management processes. This leader serves as a subject matter expert and strategic resource for clinical and quality matters and maintains effective relationships with regulatory and accrediting organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic leadership for enterprise-wide clinical quality and performance improvement programs across Amerita
  • Establishes, maintains, and continuously improves clinical standards, policies, procedures, and practices consistent with federal and state regulations, accrediting standards, and applicable professional standards of care
  • Partners with Clinical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Operations, and other leaders to standardize clinical practices and promote consistent delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Identifies clinical and operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate risk and improve patient outcomes
  • Supports the development and implementation of clinical programs for targeted therapies, disease states, and other strategic areas of care
  • Evaluates new and existing products, equipment, technology, and clinical practices related to patient care and make recommendations based on clinical, quality, safety, and operational considerations
  • Leads the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of Amerita's Quality Management and Performance Improvement programs
  • Establishes quality metrics, monitoring processes, and reporting mechanisms to assess clinical performance, patient safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness
  • Leads or supports Quality Committee activities, performance improvement projects, and enterprise quality initiatives
  • Oversees the identification, investigation, and resolution of quality incidents and trends, including Quality Incident Reports (QIRs), as appropriate
  • Monitors quality improvement action plans and outcomes and hold appropriate leaders accountable for timely and sustainable resolution
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk, increase standardization, and improve the patient and provider experience
  • Leverages data and information systems to support measurement, analysis, reporting, and continuous quality improvement
  • Provides strategic oversight of Amerita's accreditation programs and survey readiness activities
  • Interprets accreditation and regulatory standards and translate requirements into actionable policies, procedures, education, monitoring, and operational practices
  • Maintains strong relationships with accreditation organizations, auditors, and other external stakeholders
  • Leads organizational preparation for accreditation surveys, regulatory reviews, and other external audits
  • Partners with Compliance and operational leaders to ensure ongoing adherence to applicable federal, state, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Monitors regulatory and accreditation changes and assess their impact on Amerita operations and clinical practices
  • Ensures appropriate corrective action plans are developed, implemented, monitored, and sustained following audits, surveys, or identified areas of non-compliance
  • Provides leadership for the development, review, revision, implementation, and maintenance of clinical, quality, and operational policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains enterprise audit tools and monitoring processes to evaluate branch compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation standards, policies, and clinical standards
  • Oversees routine clinical and operational audits and ensure findings are appropriately communicated, addressed, and tracked to completion
  • Partners with branch and regional leadership to improve compliance and strengthen quality performance
  • Identifies trends and systemic issues through audit and quality data and recommend enterprise-level solutions
  • Establishes and oversees clinical, quality, regulatory, accreditation, and CPR+ education programs for applicable employees
  • Partners with Learning & Development, Clinical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Operations, and Sales leaders to ensure education programs address identified needs and organizational priorities
  • Conducts and/or facilitates education for clinical, pharmacy, operations, and sales teams on clinical standards, quality initiatives, accreditation requirements, and relevant clinical topics
  • Promotes a culture of continuous learning, accountability, patient safety, and quality throughout the organization
  • Leads, develops, coaches, and retains a high-performing Clinical Quality and Accreditation team
  • Establishes clear expectations, priorities, performance measures, and accountability for direct reports
  • Provides regular coaching and feedback and identify opportunities to develop team capabilities and future leaders
  • Serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to senior leadership and operational teams on clinical quality, accreditation, compliance, and patient safety matters
  • Builds effective partnerships across departments and regions to drive standardization and enterprise-wide adoption of quality initiatives
  • Provides consultation and support to leaders during significant quality, compliance, audit, or accreditation matters
  • Collaborates with Sales and other commercial teams to support the appropriate communication and positioning of Amerita's clinical programs and capabilities
  • Promotes operating practices that enable teams to work at the top of their license while maintaining quality, compliance, and patient safety

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Healthcare Administration, or a related healthcare field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Current RN or RPh license in good standing required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare experience, with significant experience in clinical quality, quality management, patient safety, regulatory compliance, accreditation, clinical operations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with responsibility for quality, clinical, regulatory, accreditation, performance improvement, or related programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading at least one successful healthcare accreditation cycle.
  • Significant experience working with healthcare regulatory and/or accrediting organizations.
  • Home infusion, specialty pharmacy, or other complex healthcare services experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide policies, audit programs, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical education programs.
  • Strong knowledge of home infusion clinical operations, quality management, patient safety, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Strong understanding of ACHC, URAC, and other applicable healthcare accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory and accreditation requirements and translate them into practical operational standards.
  • Strong audit, risk assessment, quality improvement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, relationship management, coaching, and change management skills.
  • Ability to analyze quality and operational data and use findings to drive measurable improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, clinicians, operational leaders, auditors, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives in a fast-paced, highly regulated healthcare environment.
