Full Job Description
Overview Responsible for ensuring that all construction requirements are properly executed from development through execution for Transmission, Distribution, and Substation projects. This role supports constructability and design reviews, supports field execution, and manages project handover. The position partners with engineering, estimating, project management, project controls, contractors, and other cross-functional stakeholders to influence project scope, construction strategy, cost, and schedule through execution. The role coordinates activities across the development and execution phases to support engineering objectives and successful construction and turnover of the final design. #LG&EKU #INDLGE Responsibilities • Research, analyze, and understand the scope of work for engineering construction projects and develop a constructability assessment and execution strategy for inclusion into conceptual design • Develop a preliminary outage sequencing and identify any potential outage restrictions that may affect execution. Develop appropriate mitigation plans to reduce or eliminate the risks • Support field walk downs, design reviews and site access / environmental reviews to provide regular updates to project leadership • Provides technical expertise during development of large, complex design projects, on siting/permit review, Right of Way, Environmental, outage submission, project estimation and foreign utility or customer impact • Participate in project scoping, feasibility studies, and option analysis, providing input on construction methods and cost/schedule impacts • Ensures that the contractor services are of the proper quality and obtained in a timely manner to support the required in-service dates • Support in development of contracting strategy, including packaging approaches, delivery models (EPC, unit rate, alliance), and contractor engagement • Champion adherence to enterprise PMO governance standards, strengthen regulatory readiness and provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to elevate project management capability across Engineering and Operations • Independently oversee large-scale electric construction projects, ensuring contractor performance aligns with safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and documentation standards • Provide real-time technical direction across multiple projects and contractor crews; escalate and resolve complex field issues • Act as an escalation point for complex construction issues as they arise and direct corrective action in the field • Performs other duties as assigned • Complies with all policies and standards Qualifications Required Education Bachelor's Degree in Operations, Construction Management, Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience on a year for year basis is required. Required Experience 5+ years of relevant experience in electric utility construction, electric project coordination, utilities or a related field is required Licenses/Certifications Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI Preferred Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Preferred DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Required
