SummaryHII Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Senior Combat Training Systems Test Engineer to work on a team executing integration efforts on the Modeling, Simulation, and Training environment at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center - Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis AFB, NV to support the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center, Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) team.
This position is part of a team that provides on-site Modeling and Simulation (M&S) support to establish and deliver high-end Advanced Tactics, Training, and Test capability for Government personnel operating under USAFWC/ACC. #LI-MJ1
Key Job Responsibilities- Daily managing of test teams in support of 31st Combat Training Squadron's Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) training systems located at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.
- Support the JSE engineering group on prioritizing and executing test objectives required for operational readiness of various flight simulator platforms with associated mission debrief systems.
- Plan, execute, analyze, and report component and system-level testing on JSE software components to sustain JSE Man-in-the-loop (MITL) training devices with special focus on maintaining highest levels effectiveness and reliability standards.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze simulated weapons system test data for reports and documentation.
- Recommend changes and updates to flight simulators and support equipment as required.
- Perform required readiness checks on flight simulation equipment and instruments.
- Conduct and document preventative maintenance tests and checks required for simulator and support equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of malfunctions of simulators and mission debrief equipment.
- Assist with installation and check-out of simulator and support equipment modifications.
- Develop, modify, and utilize engineering drawings/designs, test cards, and test tools.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting technical manuals or similar documents.
- Support real-time simulation development and Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing.
- Support peer reviews of simulation models, analysis tools, and other software modules as required.
- Develop test methods and implement simulation software test tools, methods, and other automated test scripts as required.
- Facilitate rapid resolution of identified issues that impact operations thorough communication with task leads, program management, and other leadership as required.
- Collaborate daily with System Administrators, Engineers, Field Technicians, and customer engineering and project management teams.
- Support development of simulation and analysis related data briefings and deliverables to engineering teams, program manager, and government customers as required.
- Create test procedures and test reports from collected test data to identify issues and submit deficiency reports (DRs) to relevant SMEs to find solutions and future improvements.
- Perform other engineering test duties as required.
What you must have- 9 year relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Master in related field; 4 years' experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 year relevant experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with DoD test methodologies and data analysis, such as Design of Experiments (DOE).

- Must have had a current or active DOD Top Secret clearance within the last 24 months.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD TS/SCI and relevant SAP/SAR Clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Man-In-The-Loop (MITL) military flight simulators is highly desired.
- Knowledge and/or experience working on software and programming/scripting languages in the Red Hat Linux environments, such as C and C++, is highly desired.
- Experience with Air Force's 5th Generation mission systems is highly desired.
- Experience as weapon system Flight Test Pilot, Test Conductor/Director, Engineer, or Weapons School SME is desired.
- Demonstrated skills and experience with military aviation hardware and software development, integration, testing, and sustainment is desired.
- Candidates with computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical degree is desired.
- Candidates with leadership/mentorship experience preferred.
Physical RequirementsOffice, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
