Job Title: Sr. Buyer

Working Pattern: Full-Time

Working location: Mankato, MN/Hybrid 2 Days Office/Week

Relocation assistance will be provided if applicable.

Position Summary

The Sr. Buyer will drive supplier strategy, negotiate contracts, and purchase goods and services for the company, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with established policies and procedures. This role also provides leadership in supplier development, risk management, and continuous improvement across the supply chain.

What you will be doing
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing, contracts, and resolving quality or delivery issues to achieve material cost and inventory goals.
  • Analyze supplier cost and pricing data, benchmark competition, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and quality.
  • Develop Negotiation strategies within commodities for pricing, terms and conditions, and long term contractual agreements.
  • Manage projects from order to closeout, leading cross-functional teams, defining project scope, and ensuring timely completion through effective scheduling, risk, and commercial management.
  • Oversee procurement activities by reviewing MRP, maintaining part and PO data integrity, and ensuring timely delivery of components to meet production requirements.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments and executive management, providing project updates, supporting order management, and facilitating issue resolution across the organization.


Basic Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Business, or related field + 4 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field + 2 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management
  • Master's degree in Business, or related field
  • JD/PhD in Business, or related field
  • In lieu of degree, 6+ years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management

Preferred Requirements:
  • Strong negotiation skills and advanced knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in financial/cost analysis and complex problem-solving.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering documents, and production planning requirements.
  • Experience with supply chain, materials management, and SAP systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
