Job Title: Sr. BIM Electrical Engineer
Location: Queens County, New York
Work Model: Onsite / Project-Based
Job Type: Full-Time
Client is seeking a highly experienced Sr. BIM Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering and BIM coordination efforts across complex commercial, industrial, institutional, and mission-critical projects.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Revit-based electrical design, electrical systems coordination, BIM workflows, and construction-phase engineering support. This role requires strong leadership capabilities, advanced technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams while ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, and project-specific standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Leadership
  • Lead the electrical engineering lifecycle from conceptual design through project closeout.
  • Design and maintain advanced Revit models for:
    • Power systems
    • Lighting systems
    • Grounding systems
    • Telecommunications
    • Fire alarm and life safety systems
  • Conduct technical calculations including:
    • Arc flash analysis
    • Voltage drop analysis
    • Fault current calculations
    • Load calculations
  • Review and apply NEC, NFPA, AHJ, and client-specific requirements.
  • Ensure constructability and seamless coordination across all trades.
BIM Coordination & System Integration
  • Lead BIM/Revit coordination with architectural, structural, and MEP teams.
  • Conduct BIM clash detection reviews and model walkthroughs.
  • Maintain BIM standards and compliance with company/client protocols.
  • Coordinate project deliverables using BIM 360/Client and collaboration platforms.
Construction & Field Support
  • Review shop drawings, as-builts, and field modifications.
  • Support field teams with troubleshooting and design adjustments.
  • Conduct site inspections to validate installation compliance with engineered plans.
  • Provide engineering guidance during construction execution phases.
Project Management & Coordination
  • Support project schedules, RFIs, submittals, and budget tracking.
  • Manage multiple engineering priorities and shifting project deadlines.
  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Provide technical consulting throughout project execution.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians.
  • Lead training initiatives related to Revit workflows and electrical design standards.
  • Drive process improvements and BIM optimization initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration and engineering excellence within project teams.
