Full Job Description
This position is a fixed-term contract projected to last 9 months. The position offers benefits, training, and full-time hours. A $1,000 bonus will be offered for 12 & 24 weeks for those that complete these milestone dates.

This is an onsite position requiring the team member to be onsite.

Job Summary

In this role, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, and availability of production tooling. You will oversee tooling spares, leads repair initiatives, use data to make decisions on mold refurbishment or replacement, support production troubleshooting, provide guidance within the tooling department, and maintain tooling documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all tooling spare parts to ensure production readiness.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of tooling-related production issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support stable manufacturing operations.
  • Mentor Tooling Engineers and Mold Makers to build technical capability across the team.
  • Provide clear technical guidance to Team Members and Leadership.
  • Maintain and update tooling documentation, standards, and repair guidelines.
  • Support repairs, refurbishments, and component replacements internally and with outside suppliers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling reliability, uptime, and quality.
  • Oversee tooling lifecycle health, including wear tracking, refurbishment planning, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Support validation and ramp-up of new or refurbished molds.
  • Participate in new product development design reviews to provide insight and direction to avoid mold design/functional problems and issues as assigned.
  • Work with our commercial sales team and customers for existing annual tooling evaluations and financials needed for any major repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Additional Responsibilities

Education

  • Education or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent four-year technical degree or commensurate work experience


Work Experience

  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in an engineering capacity


Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of injection molding industry and respective processes
  • Proficient in GD&T tolerancing
  • Experience working in a regulated GMP or GLP environment
  • Preferred knowledge of lean manufacturing and design for manufacturability
  • Experience in driving projects lasting for several months with little supervision
  • Good understanding in machining and fabrication equipment and methods (e.g. milling, turning, grinding, eroding, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks
  • Proficient in creating detailed drawings


License and Certifications

Travel Requirements

10%: Up to 26 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for 4-8 hours a day when performing equipment acceptance testing.
  • Must be able to perform required gowning and work within an ISO 7 cleanroom.
  • Must be able to learn and execute statistical analyses in both verbal and written form.
  • Must be able to own and be held responsible for assigned activities while contributing to a team and collaborating with others across multiple business functions.
  • Frequent standing, twisting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling and walking.
  • Must have excellent organizational interpersonal and problem-solving skills and be able to interface with employees in all levels of the organization and in a variety of situations.
  • Effective personal time management skills and must be able to multi-task, work under time constraints, and prioritize with constant interuptions.
  • Must have the cognitive ability to plan, execute to goal, supervise and coordinate the work of a team in area of responsibility.
