Job Description

What you'll do

  • Responsible for managing monthly and annual crew member vacation processes such as monthly rebids, monthly filler day awards, VEX requests, annual accrual calculation, and management/awarding of annual vacation award and other vacation related items according to interpretation and application of JCBA requirements
  • Provides customer service and support via phone and email to all AA crew members in regard to questions on vacation contractual rules, vacation processing, explanation of individual awards and any and all questions regarding vacation
  • Analyzes and interprets JCBA requirements and its application to existing members
  • Manages monthly vacation processes such as monthly rebids, monthly filler day awards, VEX requests, vacation slides, monthly buyback and monthly payouts
  • Acts as primary company representative for crew members on vacation-related questions, responsible for upholding contractual provisions and communicating these provisions and any decision made to the individual crew member
  • Processes and audits annual vacation accrual calculations
  • Manages and awards annual vacation award including audit and verification of input files, grids, accruals and employee eligibility
  • Provides customer service and support via phone and email to all crew member questions on vacation contractual rules, vacation processing, explanation of individual awards and any and all questions regarding vacation
  • Responsible for final decisions on accrual adjustments, monthly and annual vacation awards, exception justifications
  • Adhoc projects as required

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Business, Economics or related field and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in a crew-related environment (crew-scheduling, crew training, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Experience with SQL, Java, and advanced Excel modeling is a plus
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Strong analytical background involving data input, manipulation, and presentation
  • Working knowledge of probability, statistics, and forecasting techniques a plus
  • Understanding and familiarity with unions and contracts
  • Experience in airline operations

  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions while taking ownership of job responsibilities

  • Self-motivated and logical with aggressive approach to identifying and solving problems
  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
