Job Summary:As Sr. Actuary/Actuary on the Capital Analytics and ALM team, you will be part of a highly effective team that is responsible for managing the ALM framework and statutory capital analytics and strategy at the Standard. You will have the opportunity to work with senior actuaries and leaders across all actuarial teams as well as finance, investments, and accounting.

- ALM framework including managing interest rate, liquidity, and credit risk.
- Capital Strategy including the quarterly review of RBC position, scenario analysis, and projection of capital position.
- Short-term investment income forecasting, liquidity risk management, and short-term capital forecasting as part of the Financial Plan.
- Hedging program for interest rate risk including development of new strategies to support evolving business line needs.
- Provide thought leadership and support strategic initiatives by leading projects that improve ALM and capital-related analytics, tools, and governance.
- Support business lines product development and pricing needs. Helping develop approaches to handle ALM, capital, and asset strategies.
Note: These roles may be filled at the levels noted below based upon applicable experience and career path:- Senior Actuary: Applies knowledge of broad industry practices and developments to advocate for risk-based opportunities within the Company's risk appetite. Participates in professional or industry groups and applies expertise to further the Company's practices. FSA or equivalent required. (The compensation range for this role is: $137,000 - $200,750.)
- Actuary: Demonstrates expertise in Company's risk profile, risk appetite and risk management practices. Obtains foundational understanding of industry risk management practices. Utilizes Company and industry practices to complete risk-based analysis and propose appropriate risk-based opportunities. ASA or equivalent required. (The compensation range for this role is: $131,750 - $192,500.)
Skills and Background You'll Need: Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in mathematics, actuarial science, business or a related field preferred.
Certifications: - ASA or FSA required depending on level of role noted above.
- CFA or CERA (a plus)
Experience: - Minimum 4 years of experience in a Corporate, Life, Disability, or Annuity actuarial team sufficient to have gained a seasoned actuarial business perspective required.
- Demonstrated senior individual contributor experience in ALM, Capital, finance, or investments (a plus).
- Hands-on experience designing and applying ALM strategies to solve business line and enterprise problems (a plus)
- Prior experience with hedging programs and strategic asset allocation efforts (a plus).
- U.S. statutory capital experience in projections and scenario creation (a plus).

The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.
Salary Range:
$137,000.00 - $200,750.00
