This is an on-site position in Dahlgren, VA, supporting cutting-edge Naval programs, including the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) weapon system.
We are seeking professionals with expertise in SQL database development, and additional experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java. As a member of our Software Center of Excellence, you will take part in solving complex Digital Engineering challenges and contribute to the Navy's critical mission of modernizing systems to maintain technological superiority.
Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills, an aptitude for problem solving, and the ability to effectively collaborate within a team environment as well as work independently when needed.
Essential Responsibilities- Develop and implement database solutions using SQL to support Naval projects.
- Demonstrate proficiency in one or more programming languages, specifically C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Support senior developers in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, integration, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions.
- Apply Agile development principles to ensure flexibility and adaptability in meeting changing project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver high-quality, mission-critical software solutions.
Minimum Requirements- Experience: 0-10 years of experience in software or database development.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another applicable technical field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Other: Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to drive on and off base.
Preferred Qualifications- Proficiency in SQL database development and familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and Python.
- Knowledge of Agile Development frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with software development tools such as Git and Jenkins.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support complex engineering tasks.
- Background in mathematics or computational modeling is a plus.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Compensation Details:US: $80,000 to $140,000
