Years of Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience

Salary: $148,761 - $158,246

Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, performance, security, and reliability of SQL based database systems operating within classified enterprise environments. This position works closely with system administrators, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders to ensure database systems remain stable, secure, and optimized.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in classified environments
  • Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
  • Manage database backup, recovery, patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery processes
  • Implement and maintain database security controls including roles, permissions, auditing, and access management
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues impacting system performance, availability, or data integrity
  • Support database deployments, migrations, schema updates, and system integrations
  • Collaborate with system administrators to ensure proper integration with Windows and UNIX operating systems
  • Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for database driven applications and services
  • Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and recovery plans
  • Provide technical updates and recommendations to government and internal stakeholders
  • Optimize system operations to improve reliability, availability, and performance


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution
  • Five additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Ten years of experience supporting IT systems of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise or mission environments
  • Experience supporting systems across multiple security classification levels
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security best practices
  • Ability to work independently in secure, operational environments
  • Active TS SCI security clearance with Poly


Specialized Experience
  • Experience supporting SQL databases within classified or regulated environments
  • Experience integrating database systems with enterprise infrastructure and applications
  • Familiarity with Windows and UNIX operating systems in support of database hosted systems
  • Experience collaborating with cybersecurity and network teams to meet compliance requirements
