DESCRIPTION

The University of California San Diego is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Sports Nutritionist. UC San Diego, located in La Jolla, in the San Diego Metropolitan area, enrolls over 35,000 students and is one of the University of California's 10 campuses. The Sports Nutritionist plays an essential role within UC San Diego Athletics, supporting over 600 scholar-athletes through the Triton Performance 360 holistic care model. Operating across the three primary pillars of the UCSD Tritons EAT Program-Education, Advising, and Triage-the position develops and delivers team nutrition education, provides individualized performance nutrition guidance, and implements screening processes to identify scholar-athletes who may benefit from additional support or referral to appropriate healthcare providers.

The Sports Nutritionist collaborates closely with team physicians, dietitian, athletic trainers, coaches, and campus dining services to promote student-athlete health, well-being, performance, and recovery. Administratively, the role manages the athletic department's fueling stations, coordinates travel nutrition logistics, oversees undergraduate nutrition interns, and maintains accurate records and program data within the UCSD Athlete Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS
