Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient mobility and assess muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary functions.
  • Monitor and adapt treatment plans based on patient progress and response.
  • Oversee care provided by physical therapist assistants and aides in compliance with standards.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives to build referral relationships with physicians.

Job Description:

  • Location: Sports Medicine and Rehab 960 Rinehart Rd, Lake Mary, FL
  • Monday - Friday 10am - 7pm
  • Performs evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
  • Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.
  • Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
  • Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.
  • Monitors patient response and progress to treatment, modifying the treatment plan as appropriate.
  • Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
  • Adjusts and adapts to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers and programs as approved and observed by the manager or directors
  • Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policy and procedures.
  • Participates in marketing to physicians and physician practices to build referral relationships.
  • Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
  • Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Doctorate [Preferred]
