PositionDescription: Plan, forecast, lead, direct, and coordinate work of Self-PerformOperations (SPO) staff, subcontractors and suppliers on concrete projects.Oversee and confirm implementation of work planned for adherence to contractedscope for safety, schedule sequence, quality of work performed, and productionplanning and tracking. Supervise Trade labor in concrete or other areas ofresponsibility.
Essential Duties& Key Responsibilities:• Sequence Self-Perform Operations (SPO) concrete work to meet project schedule and estimatedproductivity; communicate schedule with project super to incorporate Self-Perform Operations (SPO) activities, durations, and flow into project schedule.
• Establishproduction requirements with Trades Foreperson and measure results weekly.Adjust work practices and crew assignments to increase production wherepossible.
• Monitor and reportinstalled quantities and percentage of completion for SPO concrete tasks andshare findings at scheduled production meetings.
• Monitor jobsitedelivered for approved materials at the time and quantities as defined inproject schedule.
• Assist GeneralSuperintendent and/or Trades Manager with hiring and termination decisionsrelated to Trade labor.
• Develop andmaintain relationships with labor sources (e.g., Union, Third-party) andindividual craft employees and oversee work to promote coordinated projectoperations.
• Plan, communicate,and implement performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics,quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
• Coordinate workwith Foreperson and Superintendents from other trades that interact withconcrete structure and sequence.
• Plan, communicate,and implement performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics,quality control, and SPO Trade staffing levels.
• Resolve local areaproblems related to procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequatelabor, and equipment schedule.
• Develop andimplement SPO safety plan in compliance with company standards, safety codes,and regulations.
• Select appropriateformwork for each structure application to enhance quality, safety, and workproduction.
• Make available JobHazard Analysis to Forepersons to enable quality daily pre-task planning.
• Supervise andoversee work of Trade forepersons; provide constructive development feedbackand contribute to completion of performance appraisals.
• Communicate workplan, schedule, and project deadlines clearly to Trades foreperson, staff, andcrew.
• Foster clean,respectful, and organized work environment to motivate and inspire staff andcrew to perform and meet/exceed project milestones.
• Monitor staff andcrew productivity and proactively confirm materials and equipment on jobsite.
• Investigate,communicate, and resolve field issues with Owners, Owner's Representatives,Architects, and/or Engineers. Manage monthly estimate of work completed,payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
• Manageinstallation of work in compliance with approved contract documents.
• Monitor andconfirm accuracy of take-off work and manage procurement of materials.
• Assist in biddingwork to review productivity and approach for executing the work.
• Analyze drawingsto identify specified components that may cause construction constraints to beresolved.
• Utilize leanconstruction methods such as Last Planner System(LPS) for proactive scheduling.
• Other activities,duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 3 years of related experience performing as Superintendent managingwork as a specialty contractor focusing on concrete, or experience as a Tradesor General foreperson.
    • Experience managing work as concrete superintendent withportfolio of completed structures • In-depth technical knowledge of concretestructure and related tools and equipment required by this trade
    • Experiencewith line and grade
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with various formworksystems • Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling andcost control procedures, general contract understanding, general conditions,subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, and Trade practices
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods and tools
    • Ability to read,understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings specifications, scopesof work, and project schedule
    • In-depth knowledge of Environmental Health& Safety (EH&S) practices
    • Conceptual ability to work with minimuminformation and quickly develop understanding of requirements
    • Proficientskills in project management, able to prioritize competing demands and meetdeadlines
    • Leadership management skills with ability to forge relationshipswith stakeholders and indirect reports
    • Professional verbal and writtencommunication skills, able to present information clearly
