Job Summary

Team
The Fraser Cascade Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) team is a small, regional team that supports children, youth, and families across the area. In this role, you will provide counselling services and collaborate closely with community CYMH and Indigenous CYMH teams to support coordinated, client-centred care.

Our CYMH team is comprised of master's-level clinicians, outreach support workers, and supportive team leaders. As part of our team process, you will have a Clinical Supervisor. We work alongside school districts, health partners, and Indigenous service providers to offer responsive and integrated care for children and youth experiencing mental health challenges. We provide regular opportunities for training and clinical discussions, empowering each team member to grow in their practice.

Role
As a CYMH Clinician on our team, you'll provide direct clinical services including intake services, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0-18. You will work closely with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs to provide comprehensive care, including individual, group and family therapy for children, youth, and families. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• Master's in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
  • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
• Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Two (2) years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
• Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
• Have completed a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) practicum within the past two years.
• Have completed CYMH training in suicide risk assessment and safety planning aligned with recent CYMH policy on suicide risk assessment and safety planning
• Have completed foundational Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) training (30 hrs)
• Have completed training in DBT-C (for Children)

Additional Requirements:

• You must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license (note - if you currently have a valid driver's license in Canada, and if you are the successful applicant, you must acquire a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license immediately).
