Job Summary

The Team
Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams across Northern BC are made up of dedicated professionals working in communities that span vast and diverse geographies. Whether based in a larger northern centre or in more remote areas, our teams are deeply committed to supporting children, youth, and families with flexible, community-connected services.

We work in partnership with Northern Health, school districts, and Indigenous organizations to meet local needs with compassion and innovation. This is a region where clinicians make a visible and lasting impact-and where you're supported by a tight-knit team that values collaboration and care.

The Role
As a CYMH Clinician, you'll support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families through direct clinical services such as intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0-18. Working flexibly across homes, schools, communities, and offices, you'll collaborate with professionals including educators, healthcare providers, Indigenous service organizations, and community agencies to deliver holistic care. This role is ideal for those who value meaningful client relationships, teamwork, and lifelong learning. Qualifications
Education and Experience:

• Master's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level in a similar subject may be considered.
  • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).
• Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Applicants with 2+ years of experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
• Applicants who self-identify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.

Additional Requirements:

• You must possess and maintain a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license (note - if you currently have a valid driver's license in Canada, and if you are the successful applicant, you must acquire a valid B.C. Class 5 driver's license immediately).

• 1 full-time temporary opportunity in Terrace until 06/30/2027.
• 1 full-time temporary opportunity in Quesnel until 04/31/2027.
• 1 full-time temporary opportunity in Dawson Creek until 01/31/2027.

The temporary opportunities may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future permanent and/or temporary vacancies. Temporary offers made from the eligibility list may become permanent.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to one (1) day at home per week subject to an approved Telework Agreement.
