Job Title: Speech Pathologist

Location: Main Hospital - New Brunswick

Department Name: Speech Therapy



Status: Salaried

Shift: Day

Pay Range: $103,800.00 - $120,100.00 per year

The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Provides comprehensive assessment, treatment, and care to patients who exhibit disorders related to articulation, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing, ensuring care is appropriate to the age and disorder of the patient served. This role is responsible for patient and family intervention in the acute care setting across multiple specialized nursing units and emergency departments. Additionally, the position requires providing in-services to staff and other disciplines as indicated to support interdisciplinary healthcare education.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • NJ Speech-Language Pathology License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association

Preferred:
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Active membership in a professional organization is encouraged but not required


Scheduling Requirements
  • Full-Time (40 hours/week)
  • Days
  • Weekend and Holiday availability required


Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for evaluation and treatment of patients in the acute care setting
  • Patient and family intervention on all nursing units including, but not limited to orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, oncology, cardiac, critical care, trauma, general medicine and telemetry, and emergency departments
  • Strong teamwork, communication and documentation skills required for intra disciplinary and interdisciplinary communication
  • Provides in-services to staff and other disciplines as indicated
