Job Description-- Demonstrate knowledge of state rules and regulations related to special education and related services, including compliance requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive student assessments using record reviews, interviews, observations, behavioral checklists, standardized and criterion referenced assessments, and clinical observations.
- Analyze and interpret evaluation data to identify student needs, plan interventions, and address problem areas within the educational environment.
- Plan and implement therapeutic activities, lessons, and interventions aligned with students' IEPs, IFSPs, and 504 plans, ensuring follow-through on established treatment plans.
- Maintain current knowledge of sensory/motor development, speech and language therapy equipment, techniques, and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Collaborate and consult effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, students, school staff, and placement committees; serve as a resource to support student success.
- Communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written communication with colleagues, families, and other stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation and records in accordance with state and district guidelines.
- Travel between school buildings as needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications-- Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university
- Certified South Dakota Speech-Language Pathology license
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work well with subordinates, public entities, educational professionals, physicians, etc.
