Full Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY

The Speech-Language Pathologist (S-LP) provides clinical services for children, youth, and/or adults with developmental disabilities and/or dual diagnosis who have communicative disorders, inclusive of their support systems. Services will include assessment, consultation and treatment. The S-LP will also contribute to the development of new clinical service pathways related to the discipline.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Related work experience is an asset.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Additional training such as Hanen training, and Ontario Assistive Device Program Authorizer is an asset.
  • Intermediate software skills in using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience in the social service sector an asset.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory expectations and relevant legislation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself.
  • Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations.


Education - University Master's Degree

Certification/Registration/Membership

  • Registration as a Speech Language Pathologist with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario


Successful applicants will be required to provide:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
  • A valid class G Ontario driver's licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy
  • Clear Police Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check
