Job DetailsResponsibilities:- Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language and/or swallowing impairments.
- Perform objective swallow evaluations.
- Recommend least restrictive safe diet consistencies to maximize patient nutrition.
- Patient population includes cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary and medical-surgical patient.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and set goals for patients diagnosed as needing speech and language / feeding/swallowing interventions. Re-evaluate and modify treatment programs as warranted.
- Areas addressed include articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language skills, oral motor competence and dysphagia.
- Accurate documentation for all patient visits in EMR
- Educate patient and family members
- Work with interdisciplinary team for plan of care
Requirements:- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- BLS certification through American Heart Association required.
- MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) experience/ competency preferred.
- Healthcare experience is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to comply with all regulatory standards.
