  • Collaborate with spectral scientists to create workflows for analyzing unique datasets using engineering principles and physics-based analysis.
  • Identify automation opportunities within workflow processes.
  • Complete mandatory training related to security/network and sensor discipline as required.

Overview

NV5 is seeking experienced and motivated Spectral Analyst to provide operational support activities required to acquire, process, model, analyze, database, catalog and disseminate non-literal electro-optical (EO) passive sensor Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) to produce intelligence reports, presentations, algorithms, tools, workflows, training, CAD models and technical papers. This role will support the National Air and Space Intelligence Agency (NASIC) and the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC).

 

Work Environment:

  • Location: Dayton, OH - National Air and Space Intelligence Agency (NASIC) and the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) 
  • Clearance:  Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Travel:  <20% of the time
Responsibilities
  • Utilize advanced GEOINT tools to analyze and exploit remotely sensed data to produce and disseminate GEOINT intelligence products.
  • Perform non-literal exploitation of Passive sensor data (Multispectral, Hyperspectral or Thermal Infrared sensor data).
  • Combine exploitation results with contextual findings discovered through research and other electro-optical (E/O) literal data analysis to bring meaningful interpretation to non-literal results.
  • Perform quality assurance and control review for own and team-members’ products prior to dissemination.
  • Collaborate with spectral scientists to analyze, develop, and utilize workflows to support the exploitation of unique, anomalous, and difficult datasets utilizing engineering principles and a physics-based analytical approach.
  • Identify workflow steps that can be automated.
  • Complete all mandatory security requirement/network, and sensor discipline training, as required.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • STEM-related degree is required (Masters/Doctorate in Chemistry, Physics, Imagery Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science).
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in spectral analysis. 
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Strong technical writing and briefing skills (experienced with MS Office – Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with ENVI, SOCET GXP, RemoteView, ArcGIS, and/or similar software tools.
  • Ability to code/script, such as in Python, MATLAB, R, and/or IDL.
  • Experience in processing and analyzing remote sensing data from active or passive sensors, especially spectral, and/or thermal (IR) data.
