Full Job Description
Title: Specialty Care Transport Unit Registered Nurse (SCTU RN)

Pay Rate: $47.00 - $52.00 per hour

Employment Types: Full-Time, overnight

About the position: The primary responsibility of the Specialty Care Transport Nurse is to provide continued critical care to the patient requiring transportation to another facility. The nurse is responsible for maintaining necessary certifications and knowledge base to provide safe and appropriate treatment to those patients requiring a variety of critical care services.

RN Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervised, directed treatment of common medical diagnose
  • Participate in continuing education as required by the state where you reside
  • Adhere to clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics, and always drive in a safe and responsible manner
  • Provide care with cultural sensitivity and compassion
  • Project a professional image and attitude when interacting with clients, the public and fellow employees.
  • Perform SCT related procedures under Department of Health regulations
  • Ensure that all ALS equipment is operating properly and the assigned medical bag is fully stocked with no expired medications present.
  • Perform resuscitation, as necessary.
  • Perform systematic examination and interview of patient.
  • Initiate and/or continue therapeutic modalities within a nurse's scope of practice as ordered by a physician through direct or indirect communication
  • Utilize all equipment and medications necessary on the SCTU, including intra-aortic balloon pumping.
  • Manage patient's airway, utilize IV pumps, and ventilators and monitoring devices, as necessary for patient care.
  • Complete all necessary authorizations and the SCTU patient care report
  • Perform patient lifting and transferring of necessary equipment as transport requires.
  • Perform other related duties as required.


Qualifications:
  • Valid NJ RN License
  • Valid EMT Certification strongly preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care area required, such as in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Cardiac Care, Trauma Unit
  • Active and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification with AHA required
  • TNCC, CERN, CCRN, CTRN preferred
