Job Title: Specialist Engineer - Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Systems Engineer Job Code: 39795 Job Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off Job Description: The Specialist Systems ILS Engineer supports clients in the management or direction of logistics support for one or more programs, including appropriate supporting organizations. The logistics system engineer will provide direct support to the customer in the planning, coordinating and execution of numerous acquisition program logistics efforts for legacy and future systems as well as technical refreshes/ upgrades. The logistics systems engineer will provide logistics, sustainment, and life cycle support; training; advice; and recommendations. This position can function as both an ILS Manager and logistics engineer responsible for life cycle cost analysis, maintenance planning activities, repair management, supply chain management, provisioning and various other logistics tasks. Essential Functions:
  • Planning and coordination of all logistics elements to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified.
  • Develop and support the generation and review of logistics support documentation, including Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Provisioning Parts Lists (PPL), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), maintenance plans, support equipment recommendation data (SERD), and other logistics supportability analysis (LSA) documents.
  • Conduct logistics analyses and assessments such as supportability analysis, Level of Repair Analysis, range and depth of spare parts, DMSMS, and risk assessments.
  • Analyzing system lifecycle costs, ensuring sustainability, and planning for obsolescence, upgrades, or disposal.
  • Utilize ILS tools and software to track logistics data, monitor system performance, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, design engineers, program managers, and customers to integrate logistics considerations into system design.
  • Obtain and maintain any security clearances, status or licenses required by client to perform work.
  • Experience defining support and maintenance requirements at the organizational, intermediate, and depot level for electronic equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of time in support of off-site program meetings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant systems engineering, logistics engineering, sustainment, or integrated logistics support experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related integrated logistics support, sustainment, or logistics systems engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Logistics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with Product Support Analysis (PSA), LSA, GEIA-STD-0007 or its predecessor MIL-STD-1388-2B.
  • Proficiency using LSA software applications, models, and databases (e.g., Slicwave, EAGLE, Powerlog).
  • Experience using logistics and supportability analysis tools, including Compass (LORA), CASA (LCCA), and comparable applications.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging artificial intelligence tools and techniques to enhance quality, improve decision-making, and increase efficiency across core job functions.
  • Experience with cost account and project engineering management.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills along with the ability to work independently or in a team environment is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical information and make informed decisions.
  • Current security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience Earned Value Management System techniques.
