Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly qualified Specialist Line Support (1st Shift) Clarksville to join us at our U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Processing Facility in Clarksville, TN. You will supervise systems, resources, and staffing levels within the unit to meet safety, production, compliance, team and project objectives or goals.

What you will be doing:

  • Willing to work alternative shifts, overtime and support other facilities as necessary
  • Providing direction, allocating resources, personnel coverage, mentoring, and work assignments.
  • Communicating and coordinating with production for planned activities of the business unit with team members and support resources to meet established schedules and assure effective execution of work processes.
  • Communicating status of key measures to assure your employees know where they are in meeting goals.
  • Building individual and organizational capability within your shift as you address the needs of the business and your people.
  • Participating and/or leading QMS responsibilities including Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), Change Control, Deviation Investigations and Document Change Request.
  • Operate forklift, electric lift equipment, walkie, etc.
  • Assure necessary records are completed accurately, including Quality Management System (QMS), Safety, Compliance, etc.
  • Working LSS capable of utilizing IS systems required for paper can manufacturing processes (HMI's, JDA, MSF, etc.) as well as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Monitor packing/pouching process and equipment performance. Interface with supervision and support functions to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with the Line Structure Team to lead and support operations through the IWS journey.
  • Initiating as well as participating in trouble shooting, problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.


What we want you to have:

  • Associates degree OR four (4) year degree
  • In lieu of the education requirement, a candidate can qualify with five (5) years' experience in a manufacturing or relevant leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Pakea and Minster Press Equipment.
  • Familiarity with Blue Yonder, JDA, MSF, SAP, and UIBT work systems.
  • Confirmed ability to effectively mentor and lead employees in a team-based environment.
  • Possess a proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a changing environment.
  • Make decisions using independent judgment under time constraints with minimal direction when required.
  • Can build consensus for resource needs, problem solving and solutions with peers, subordinates and management through networks within and beyond the business unit or department.
  • Have good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be able to easily move about and industrial environment and standing on a concrete floor 80 to 85 percent of the time including, but not limited to, working at higher elevations, climbing multiple stairs, working in dusty environments, working at temperature extremes (hot and cold) and humid conditions, and the ability to perform lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and general housekeeping activities


The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $80,800.00 - $118,750.00.
