Job Title: Specialist, Facilities Project Manager Job Code: 45056 Job Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days- totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday off Job Description:The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing facilities-related projects in support of site operations and business objectives. This role oversees projects from initial concept through completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The Facilities Project Manager partners with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and site leadership to manage facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements, workspace modifications, and capital projects.
Essential Functions:- Lead facilities projects from initiation through closeout, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal customers, engineering, operations, EHS, security, finance, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities.
- Manage construction, renovation, maintenance, and infrastructure improvement projects for office, manufacturing, lab, or support spaces as applicable.
- Develop project plans, schedules, cost estimates, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project performance to ensure milestones, budgets, and deliverables are achieved.
- Oversee contractor and vendor activities, including selection support, scheduling, performance monitoring, and compliance with site requirements.
- Ensure all project work is performed in accordance with applicable building codes, safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize operational disruption and project delays.
- Prepare and present project status updates, reports, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
- Support capital planning, forecasting, and long-range facilities improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, permits, contracts, and closeout documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement in facilities project execution, processes, and standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:- 5+ years of experience managing facilities, maintenance, construction, renovation, or capital improvement projects in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, or government environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Preferred Additional Skills:- Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience managing facilities, construction, infrastructure, or building-related projects.
- Knowledge of project management principles, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination.
- Familiarity with building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and general construction practices.
- Experience working with building codes, permitting, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- PMP certification or other project management certification.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, aerospace, defense, industrial, or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of capital project planning and facilities operations.
- Experience with AutoCAD, CMMS, or other facilities/project tracking systems.
- Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety practices related to facility projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Project and project management tools.
