Your Contribution

Help shape strategic decision-making by analyzing global macroeconomic, geopolitical, and commodity market trends. You will contribute insights, scenario modeling, and risk assessments that support portfolio planning, business strategy, and executive decision-making across Newmont.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Monitor geopolitical, economic, and commodity market developments and assess their potential impact on the business.
  • Develop and support macroeconomic and portfolio scenarios to evaluate future opportunities and risks.
  • Utilize economic and commodity modeling tools to generate insights and deliver stakeholder-ready presentations.
  • Conduct research on geopolitical trends, shareholder dynamics, emerging technologies, and industry developments.
  • Contribute to strategic reviews using historical and global market analogs.
  • Support Executive Leadership Team and Board presentations with data-driven analysis and future-focused insights.
  • Maintain and monitor geopolitical risk registers and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Corporate Development, Government Relations, Supply Chain, and Mine Planning teams.


Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of macroeconomics, geopolitics, commodity markets, and the mining industry lifecycle.
  • Experience in economic analysis, scenario planning, strategic forecasting, risk assessment, or portfolio development.

Your Work Environment

You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment partnering with Finance, Corporate Development, Government Relations, Supply Chain, and Mine Planning teams. This role supports enterprise-wide strategic planning and engages with senior leaders by providing analysis and recommendations on global economic, geopolitical, and commodity market developments. Work Environment, Pay & Benefits:

This position is based in our Denver, CO corporate headquarters, with flexibility for hybrid work. The base salary range is $86,500-$115,300 (reflecting market rates and your qualifications). The final base pay offer will be based on individual factors such as your experience, and skills - we do not ask for or use your prior pay in setting your compensation. You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance. Newmont provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, health savings/reimbursement accounts, 401(k), pension, paid time off, and family leave.
