About the Role

We are seeking an Ammonia/Production Line Technician to join our team at our Chaska, Minnesota bakery facility. As an Ammonia/Production Line Technician, you will be accountable for maintaining and repairing industrial refrigeration systems and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, supporting product quality, and maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)
  • Maintain and repair ammonia refrigeration systems, HVAC units, boilers, pumps, compressors, and other utility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues affecting production and facility operations.
  • Monitor and optimize refrigeration and production systems to ensure reliable performance and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with PSM, RMP, GMP, OSHA, EPA, LOTO, and company safety standards.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities through SAP CMMS work orders and maintenance schedules.
  • Document and communicate maintenance activities, equipment conditions, parts requirements, and corrective actions accurately.
  • Support production operations by responding to equipment needs, identifying risks, and collaborating with maintenance and operations teams.


Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial plant maintenance and refrigeration maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using SAP CMMS or a comparable computerized maintenance management system.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain CARO and CIRO certifications, RETA certification, or equivalent industrial refrigeration training.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, overtime, and on-call assignments as needed.
  • Ability to obtain clearance for use of a full-face respirator and perform work in manufacturing environments with temperature changes, flour dust, noise, and moving equipment.


Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • RETA Certification.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or bakery operations.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and utilizing A3 problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
