Overview

HealthPro Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity available for a Special Education Teacher starting this August in Easton, MD!

Position Details
  • Full-time, W2 position
  • Pay Rate: $42.00-$46.00/hour
  • Candidates must be certified Special Education Teachers
  • Age Groups: Elementary and High School students
  • Disabilities on caseload primarily include:
    • Other Health Impairments (OHI)
    • Learning Disabilities
    • Autism
    • Language Impairments
  • Caseload is fluid, typically serving approximately 1015 students at any given time
  • Services are primarily provided within the general education setting during standard school hours

 

Responsibilities
  • Work with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
  • Adapt general education lessons and teach various subjects, such as reading, writing, and math, to students with mild and moderate disabilities.
  • Teach skills, such as literacy and communication techniques, to students with severe disabilities.
  • Consult and collaborate with School staff and families in regards to students9 educational deficits
  • Conduct initial screenings as well as comprehensive evaluations Participate in the IEP process in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for Special Education services
  • Provide Special Education sessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP
  • Maintain all documentation required by the district including, but not limited to, notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP9s
Qualifications
  • Must be certified Special Education Teacher in the state of Maryland.
  • Have successful experience working with culturally diverse families.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development
