In this role, youll play a critical part in student success by implementing specialized instruction, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and student progress. What Youll Do
- Deliver standards-based instruction aligned with the Alabama Course of Study (ACOS), developing and implementing engaging lesson plans to support diverse learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student goals and accommodations were effectively addressed.
- Facilitate IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and ongoing communication with families, educators, and support staff regarding student progress and needs.
- Utilize differentiated instruction, educational technology, and a variety of instructional resources to maximize student engagement and achievement.
- Assess student performance through formal and informal evaluations, using data to monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Establish and maintained a positive classroom environment by implementing effective behavior management strategies and enforcing school policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate student records, documentation, reports, and compliance requirements in accordance with federal, state, district, and school regulations.
- Support overall school operations through collaboration with colleagues, participation in professional meetings, and completion of additional duties assigned by school and district administrators.
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Professional certificate in the area of responsibility issued by the Alabama State Department of Education
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- School-based experience preferred, not required
