TheSenior SAP Security Subject Matter Expert (SME)is a key enterprise leader responsible for driving the consistent, compliant, and mission-focused execution of security operations across allSpecial Access Program (SAP)activities. This individual provides leadership and oversight across core SAP security disciplines, includingPersonnel Security (PERSEC), Facility Security, Industrial Security, and Physical Security, to ensure a unified and resilient security posture across the enterprise.
This role partners closely withCybersecurityandInformation Assuranceteams to advance an integrated security approach that supports mission execution while strengthening enterprise risk management. The Senior SAP Security SME also plays an important role inbusiness development, helping shape growth strategy, support proposal efforts, and engage government partners to identify and pursue opportunities aligned with the organization27s capabilities.
ResponsibilitiesProvide enterprise-level leadership and direction for all SAP security activities, ensuring consistency of standards, processes, and compliance across the organization.
Oversee PERSEC, Facility Security, Industrial Security, and related security functions for SAP initiatives, ensuring alignment with DoD and nationallevel policy.
Partner with Cybersecurity teams to design and maintain a fully integrated security approach that blends physical, personnel, industrial, and cyber protections.
Conduct enterprise assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and lead mitigation strategies to strengthen SAP security posture across programs.
Serve as senior advisor to leadership on SAP security requirements, policy, threat trends, compliance challenges, and mission assurance.
Support accreditation processes and ensure continuous alignment with evolving SAP directives, policies, and oversight expectations.
Engage with government customers, SAPCOs, PSOs, and stakeholder organizations to ensure proactive communication and program success.
Contribute to business development activities in the SAP community, including shaping technical volumes, informing capture strategies, supporting proposal development, and identifying emerging opportunities that align with organizational strengths.
Represent the organization at SAPrelated forums, customer engagements, and industry events to help position the company as a trusted and knowledgeable partner.
Qualifications20+ years of progressive DoD security experience, with at least 10 years directly supporting SAP programs.
Demonstrated mastery of PERSEC, Facility Security, Industrial Security, Program Protection, and DoD SAP policy frameworks.
Proven ability to lead integrated security operations in highly classified environments.
Strong understanding of how physical, personnel, and cyber protections intersect and contribute to a unified SAP security strategy.
Master27s degreein Security Studies, National Security, Public Administration, Management, or a related field.
Extensive knowledge of DoDM 5205.07 series, DoDM 5105.21, ICD guidance, and servicespecific SAP policies.
Experience supporting business development or capture activities within the classified or SAP community is highly desirable.
Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior government, military, and industry partners.
Pay Transparency StatementAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $225,000.00/Yr. - USD $250,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
