Overview

Job Summary

 

The Space Targeting Instructor will deliver instructor-led training in support of classified space targeting operations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The successful candidate will facilitate classroom instruction, practical exercises, and student evaluations while supporting curriculum development and course maintenance. Instruction will focus on space targeting, intelligence support to targeting, target development, mission planning, ISR integration, and operational trade-craft within a classified space intelligence training environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The Space Targeting Instructor will:

  • Deliver instructor-led training in support of classified space targeting and intelligence operations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
  • Instruct students on space targeting, intelligence support to targeting, target development, mission planning, ISR integration, and targeting cycle processes
  • Facilitate classroom instruction, scenario-based learning, practical exercises, student assessments, and after-action reviews
  • Develop, review, and maintain Programs of Instruction (POIs), lesson plans, practical exercises, assessments, student materials, and courseware
  • Support curriculum updates to ensure course content reflects current doctrine, tactics, techniques, procedures, and operational requirements
  • Provide instruction on Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) concepts and their application to targeting, intelligence production, and mission planning
  • Coordinate with instructors, Government stakeholders, and program leadership to ensure effective course delivery and training execution.
  • Evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate training documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating student feedback, after-action reviews, and evolving operational requirements into course content
Requirements

Skills and Experience

 

The Space Targeting Instructor must have:

  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance
  • 8+ years of experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Air Force (DAF), Intelligence Community (IC), targeting, ISR, intelligence analysis, mission planning, operational planning, space operations, or related mission areas
  • Experience delivering instructor-led training, operational instruction, or courseware in a classified DoD or Intelligence Community environment
  • Experience supporting targeting, target development, intelligence support to targeting, target system analysis, or targeting cycle activities
  • Experience developing or maintaining Programs of Instruction (POIs), lesson plans, practical exercises, assessments, and instructional courseware
  • Experience facilitating classroom instruction, practical exercises, student evaluations, and after-action discussions
  • Ability to work full-time on-site at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
  • Experience supporting the Space Targeting Course, Mission Planning Course, or comparable classified intelligence training programs
  • Experience supporting the U.S. Space Force (USSF), U.S. Air Force (USAF), Combat Forces Command (CFC), Space Delta 7, NASIC, ISR Squadrons, or other classified space intelligence organizations
  • Knowledge of Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED), intelligence production, mission planning, space ISR, target development, and classified space targeting operations
  • Familiarity with joint targeting doctrine, space operations, and intelligence support to military planning and targeting processes

Education and Certifications

 

The Space Targeting Instructor must meet the following:

 

Required

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in intelligence studies, space operations, national security, military studies, targeting, operational planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university

Preferred

  • Formal instructor certification or military instructor qualification
  • Targeting, intelligence, space operations, mission planning, or instructional systems design certification

Security Clearance

 

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

 

Physical Requirements

 

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner, and that may include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary.
