Job Description

The Strategy and Business Development team is seeking a Strategic Planner Principal to aid in the development of a customer focused strategy aligned with our technology roadmaps for the Space Security Mission Area.
This individual will assist in identifying future opportunities and frame what comes next for the Lockheed Martin Space Security enterprise. A successful candidate will have a background and understanding of Space Security and Command and Control missions and the business capture process. The candidate will work with a highly integrated team of technical professionals, as well as cross-functional disciplines in support of achieving sales growth objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing campaigns to shape successful pursuits in critical mission areas. Engagement with key external customers and ability to build customer relationships are key to success in this role. The position will be directly responsible for providing leadership of the capture team and ensuring winning proposals are submitted in alignment with LM processes. Additional responsibilities include attending industry events, conferences, summits, and symposiums, identifying and establishing key industry partnerships to maximize new business growth, and collaborating with engineering leadership to support strategic growth. The position will also support the overall strategy development within the NSS LOB with the goal of significant LRP growth.

In this dynamic role you will:
• Develop long-range objectives and strategic plans for Space Security by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability.
• Scan environment for business opportunities, maintains surveillance over market, and may perform financial analysis of acquisition candidates.
• Develop and monitor profitability, productivity, and growth targets. Prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.
• Plan and coordinate business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis.
• Identify & establish key industry partnerships to maximize new business growth within this key customer.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Proven experience with the DoW.
• Experience working across the Space Security or Space Command and Control domain.
• Experience developing strategies.
• In depth understanding of defense acquisition statute and policies, taxonomy, and acquisition transformation initiatives.
• Established senior-level contacts and relationships with U.S. Space Force, DoW stakeholders, and potentially industry partners. Ability to influence requirements and shape opportunities.
• US Citizen with Top Secret/SCI required.

Desired skills
• Minimum of 10 years of business development experience within the Intelligence Community (IC) including the US Space Force and US Air Force.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience developing short and long-term strategies.
• IC and/or DoD experience and ability to expand support across other customers.
• Capture Management experience.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $144,600 - $255,070. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
