Position: Sous Chef, Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center
Salary: $80,000-85,000
Job SummaryThe Sous Chef is responsible for executing high-quality cuisine, leading the culinary team, and ensuring operational excellence while meeting cost goals and upholding company standards and values.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations- Execute menus and maintain recipe standards
- Ensure consistent, high-quality food and guest experience
- Conduct daily kitchen walkthroughs and maintain show quality
- Gather guest feedback and support continuous improvement
- Address guest service issues and support company initiatives
Controls- Utilize systems for purchasing, POS, and labor management
- Manage inventory, product handling, and cost controls
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and security standards
- Forecast, schedule, and plan for operational needs
Team Leadership- Lead, coach, and develop team members
- Support hiring, training, and performance management
- Foster a positive, productive team environment
Qualifications- 3+ years in a culinary leadership role
- Culinary degree preferred
- Strong financial and operational knowledge
- High computer proficiency
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Passion for hospitality and food
