Full Job Description
We are currently looking for a Solutions Architect for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government healthcare modernization project. This position will lead enterprise architecture, technology solutioning, and technical standards supporting U.S. Census Bureau mission priorities, including census preparation, execution, and data analysis. This position is contingent upon contract award.

The Solutions Architect will operate within an Agile, SAFe, DevSecOps, and cloud-enabled PMO environment, collaborating with Government leaders, program managers, software engineers, cybersecurity professionals, data specialists, and other contractors. The selected candidate must be available to travel to the Washington, DC metropolitan area as needed to support onsite meetings, program activities, and customer requirements.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of enterprise technical architectures supporting Census Bureau systems, operations, data management, analytics, and mission objectives.
  • Develop technical approaches, technology solutions, architecture specifications, technical standards, and solution-development processes.
  • Collaborate with specialists in Agile delivery, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data management, analytics, AI/ML, interoperability, and operations.
  • Translate complex architectures, cloud environments, data platforms, workflows, and technical concepts into clear specifications, diagrams, and implementation guidance.
  • Coordinate with program managers, Government staff, engineers, and other contractors to ensure solutions are maintainable, scalable, secure, performant, and cost-effective.
  • Lead technical briefings, architecture reviews, management reviews, and documentation activities supporting disciplined program execution.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related technical discipline, with at least 10 years of experience across IT, systems engineering, software development, infrastructure, or enterprise technology.
  • At least five years of experience supporting or leading Agile development and DevSecOps delivery for U.S. Federal Government programs.
  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud environments, data management and analytics technologies, Agile methodologies, and DevSecOps delivery models.
  • Experience designing enterprise architectures involving AI/ML capabilities, system interoperability, application integration, and complex data flows.
  • Strong ability to translate technical concepts into detailed federal technical narratives, architecture diagrams, workflows, data-flow diagrams, and implementation standards.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, collaboration, relationship-building, and cross-functional technical leadership skills.

Additional Qualifications
  • Extensive experience supporting Agile and SAFe software-delivery environments.
  • Prior experience supporting the U.S. Census Bureau, Department of Commerce, or comparable civilian federal modernization programs.
  • Relevant architecture or cloud certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or TOGAF.

Security Clearance Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • All selected candidates must successfully complete a background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance, including required fingerprinting, when required for the position.
