Job Description

The Solution Architect will facilitate solution design for business integrations across PCI's supported product ecosystem, helping connect ERP, HRIS, payroll, accounting, CRM, ATS, and other cloud-based platforms through scalable and supportable approaches. This role requires a strong combination of consulting experience, working technical integration knowledge, business process understanding, and confident client-facing communication.

This individual will work directly with sales, prospects, clients, project managers, consultants, developers, and strategic partners to define integration approaches that are scalable, supportable, and aligned with PCI's API delivery model.

The Solution Architect will support the full customer solution lifecycle from discovery and requirements gathering through scoping, documentation, testing support, deployment readiness, go-live coordination, and transition handoff. This role will help distinguish between productized solutions, configuration options, and custom development needs while recommending reusable frameworks, repeatable delivery methods, and integration best practices.

  • Facilitate solution design sessions for moderate to complex integration projects, providing guidance and recommendations on scalable approaches.
  • Translate business requirements into clear solution requirements, integration specifications, assumptions, and implementation guidance for engineering.
  • Provide input on REST, web service, webhook, ETL, middleware, and event-driven integration approaches based on client needs and platform capabilities.
  • Develop data mapping strategies, workflow models, and requirements documentation across disparate business systems.
  • Recommend build-versus-buy approaches by assessing platform capabilities, implementation complexity, scalability, supportability, and long-term value. Identify repeatable client needs that may be converted into reusable frameworks, integration accelerators, or ASTRATA offerings to reduce custom development and improve delivery consistency.
  • Serve as a customer-facing technical advisor during discovery calls, scoping discussions, and solution reviews.
  • Advise customers on integration best practices, solution options, and architecture considerations.
  • Collaborate with PCI Sales, Consulting, Project Management, and Development teams to define scope, delivery approach, assumptions, and risks.
  • Present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Assist in proposal development, statements of work, and executive solution presentations.
  • Provide solution guidance to developers throughout project execution and partner with engineering on technical feasibility, risks, and delivery considerations.
  • Assist in establishing integration standards, governance recommendations, reusable patterns, and documentation templates.
  • Review solution requirements and delivery documentation to help ensure alignment with approved scope and recommended integration approach.
  • Help diagnose integration issues in partnership with engineering and support teams, documenting resolution patterns and client-facing impacts as needed.
  • Guide clients through testing, deployment readiness, go-live activities, and transition handoff in partnership with Project Management, Consulting, and Support teams.
  • Identify opportunities to convert custom integrations into reusable PCI solutions and frameworks.
  • Support the growth and expansion of PCI's ASTRATA integration platform.
  • Provide input on reference architectures and repeatable integration methodologies.
  • Own clear documentation and communication of requirements, assumptions, dependencies, risks, solution decisions, and implementation handoff materials.
  • Participate in scoping sessions and provide technical input to support level-of-effort estimates.
  • Assess integration risks, dependencies, assumptions, and implementation complexity.
  • Support project managers in planning and resource allocation activities.
  • Produce clear requirements documentation, scope notes, assumptions, dependency tracking, and client-facing solution summaries as key deliverables of the role.
  • Document testing expectations, deployment assumptions, go-live readiness items, and transition handoff requirements to ensure continuity across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience working with enterprise integrations, including enough technical understanding to scope solutions and write clear requirements.
  • 2+ years in a customer-facing technical consulting, solution architecture, integration analysis, or senior implementation role supporting integration solutions.
  • Experience scoping API, data integration, and systems integration projects and documenting business and technical requirements for delivery teams.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing architecture discussions and technical solutioning efforts.
  • Strong discovery and requirements gathering capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and recommend scalable technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate discovery workshops, solution reviews, and executive-level discussions.
  • Working understanding of REST APIs, SOAP/REST web services, webhooks, JSON/XML, OAuth 2.0, data mapping and transformation, SQL databases, ETL workflows, and integration security best practices sufficient to scope solutions and write implementation-ready requirements.
  • Working familiarity with SSO/authentication frameworks, cloud-based integration concepts, platform connectivity, and event-driven architecture sufficient to evaluate solution options and communicate requirements.
  • Exposure to Deltek products like Costpoint, Vantagepoint, WorkBook, or Maconomy as well as Magnetic, Paycor, ADP, Paychex, UKG, iSolved, Ramp, Workato, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments.
  • AWS Certification, Azure Certification, or Integration Platform Certifications.
  • Experience with iPaaS or middleware platforms such as Workato, Boomi, MuleSoft, Celigo, or similar solutions, including the ability to assess when a platform-based approach is more appropriate than custom development.
  • Experience supporting productized SaaS integration offerings.
