Full Job Description
Tomorrow.io's Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io's Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our existing forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

We're looking for an SQA Automation Engineer who is passionate about designing, implementing, and executing automated and manual software QA tests for the next generation features of Tomorrow's Space and Sensor software radar applications. These products will have a direct impact on Tomorrow.io's space program, radar products, and overall strategic positioning in the market. As a contributor within the Space and Sensors software team, you will play a critical role in the execution of complex, multidisciplinary system development programs. Your challenges will include software quality, high-availability, release reliability, and issue tracking. Your contributions will help make sure we are building the best weather platform in the world.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and Operate Automated Verification Systems
    • Develop and maintain automated test frameworks in Python to validate complex C++ software and firmware systems, enabling scalable verification of mission-critical radar and sensor software.
  • Enable Reliable Software Builds and Releases
    • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions that build, test, and validate software using C++ build systems (CMake/QMake), and support software development workflows through Jira integration and Git-based source control practices (branching strategies, pull requests, and release baselines) to ensure reliable, reproducible software releases.
  • Develop Test Infrastructure and Continuous Validation Pipelines
    • Build and maintain the test infrastructure, automation tooling, and validation workflows required to continuously test integrated hardware/software systems across multiple platforms and environments.
  • Partner with Software and Firmware Teams to Improve System Quality
    • Collaborate closely with software and firmware engineers to support build systems, integrate automated testing into development workflows, participate in design and code reviews, and provide actionable feedback through automated test results and quality metrics.

What You Bring:
  • Python and test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest)
  • Strong Git experience (branching strategies, pull requests, rebasing, repository management)
  • Design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Build systems and build automation (e.g., CMake, QMake) including cross-platform build management
  • Bash scripting and strong familiarity with Linux command-line tools (e.g., ssh, ping, system utilities)
  • Hardware / embedded system testing experience

So, if your passion is to contribute to the design of cutting edge next-generation RADAR software to provide weather intelligence to the world, and have fun while doing so, then this team is for you.

If your experience is close but doesn't fulfill all requirements, please apply. Tomorrow.io is on a mission to build a special company. To achieve our goal, we are focused on hiring people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences.

This position requires access to technology that is controlled under U.S. export control laws and regulations. Accordingly, this position is restricted to U.S. citizens, permanent residents and protected individuals unless and until any required licenses are obtained.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $100-120k subject to local market and candidates skills and experience. Comprehensive health benefits, unlimited paid time off and other benefits included. Relocation assistance may be offered/available for certain roles.
