Software Modernization Architect, Lead

The Opportunity:

Design enterprise architecture (EA) to enable strategic or tactical transformations through informed decision-making at any level of an enterprise to support governance, future growth, adaptability, optimization, innovation, and modernization initiatives such as cloud and digital solutions. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise, including full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction, and mentor and supervise team members.

You Have:

• 12+ years of experience with the selective rearchitecting of C++, Java, and Python applications using microservices
• Experience with the identification, definition, and maintenance of as-is key interfaces and services
• Ability to define, justify, and defend a suitable and selective modernization strategy, including selection of modules maintained, strangled, or replaced, based on mission benefits and cost
• Ability to input non-functional goals into the rearchitected system
• Ability to define and communicate a recommended incremental modernization roadmap, including functional availability, performance goals, sequence, and key milestones, to the software team
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience refactoring and rearchitecting systems with user interfaces, performance goals, and interoperability constraints
• Experience with multi-security level cloud environments
• Experience integrating MBSE or SysML models with requirements, interfaces, and test cases
• Ability to communicate with the USG customer, lead software modernization engineer, and coalition legacy software providers
• TS/SCI clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
