The Work
This role is for a DevSecOps Software Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. In this role, you will drive unification and automation of processes to enable development of software capability across the entire GWS system. You will be instrumental in combining code, application maintenance, and application management. All these tasks rely on understanding not only development life cycles, but DevSecOps culture, and its philosophy, practices, and tools. You bring a curiosity and understanding of the development lifecycle goals and the transactions occurring within pipelines, scanning tools, deployments, and all steps of the development lifecycle. You will actively interface with DevSecOps and engineering teams to coordinate and optimize the steps that execute within the DevSecOps ecosystem and bring consistency and best practices in approach, tools, and standards. You will also create and maintain fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) build processes, which include writing builds and deployment scripts.
Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time as part of the IDT product team.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 4 Years with Masters; 2 Years with PhD
• Must be able to acquire a DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification within 60 days from the start date (ex: Security + CE)
• Experience developing object oriented software in C++, Java, Python
• Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools and pipelines
• Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
• Recent Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
• Recent Experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
• Communicates effectively, both internally and externally to team
• US Citizenship, with a active DoD Secret clearance
• Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time
• Currently supporting the GWS program
Desired skills
• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs
• Prior experience working using DOORS
• Prior experience using Atlassian Tools
• Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
• Prior experience as a Product Owner
• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $113,900 - $200,905. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $131,000 - $227,125. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
