Full Job Description
Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a talented Lead Software Engineer to provide technical and program leadership to our growing team supporting a high-priority national security mission. In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, development, and integration of an advanced Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) data fusion and analytics platform, working closely with the Program Manager and customer to establish requirements, technical priorities, and program execution strategy. The platform integrates multiple intelligence data sources into a unified operational environment, leveraging modern data processing technologies, APIs, advanced data correlation and entity resolution, and advanced visualization capabilities to support intelligence analysis, vulnerability research, and collaborative mission planning.

This position offers an opportunity to provide program-level technical leadership on cutting-edge intelligence integration projects, establishing technical direction and guiding the development of secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions that support critical national security missions.

**This position will offer a hybrid work schedule**

You'll be Doing:
  • Provide technical leadership across the program, establishing software architecture, guiding engineering decisions, and leading the development of well-designed, testable, and efficient software solutions.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Program Manager to establish program priorities, capture and refine customer requirements, manage technical execution, and ensure engineering activities remain aligned with program cost, schedule, staffing, and contractual objectives.
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and integration of full-stack software applications using Python, React, and TypeScript to integrate, process, and correlate structured and unstructured intelligence data through APIs and scalable backend services. Architect advanced data fusion and entity resolution capabilities, and guide the development of interactive dashboards, custom interfaces, and data visualization capabilities to support SIGINT analysis, vulnerability research, and collaborative mission workflows, while defining secure integration architectures and interfaces with external AI platforms.
  • Serve as a primary technical interface to the customer, leading requirements development, technical planning, design reviews, demonstrations, and resolution of significant technical issues. Partner with program management on staffing, resource planning, technical budgets and estimates, schedules, risks, and development of technical CDRLs and other contractual deliverables. When required, support selected program management responsibilities to ensure successful program execution.
  • Provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, establishing engineering standards, guiding architectural decisions, mentoring software engineers, and collaborating with mission stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable software solutions through Agile development practices, automated testing, and continuous integration.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Have an active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 15 years of related professional experience
  • Extensive experience designing, architecting, and developing full-stack applications using Python and React/TypeScript, including demonstrated technical leadership of complex software development efforts.
  • Advanced experience architecting scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience leading the design and development of interactive user interfaces and dashboards using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Experience working with structured data formats such as JSON and XML and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including the design of data models and database architectures supporting complex data integration and correlation.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting data ingestion, parsing, transformation, normalization, correlation, and integration across multiple data sources.
  • Experience using Git, software debugging tools, and automated testing frameworks, including establishing software engineering standards, conducting technical design and code reviews, and guiding CI/CD implementation.
  • Advanced experience with Linux development environments and containerization technologies such as Docker, including the design and deployment of scalable, distributed software applications.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, system scalability, performance optimization, secure coding practices, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish technical direction, evaluate architectural alternatives, and resolve complex engineering challenges involving system integration, performance, scalability, and data integrity.
  • Demonstrated experience capturing and refining customer requirements, developing technical roadmaps, and translating mission needs into executable engineering priorities.
  • Ability to work directly with program management and customers to coordinate technical execution, staffing, resources, schedules, risks, and contractual deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary technical teams, mentor software engineers, and effectively communicate architectural decisions and technical approaches to program leadership and mission stakeholders.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Experience serving as a Lead Engineer, Chief Engineer, Technical Program Lead, or software architect on programs supporting SIGINT, intelligence analysis, cyber operations, or other national security missions.
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering, vulnerability research, or cyber threat analysis, including the integration of these analytical capabilities into mission-oriented software platforms.
  • Advanced experience architecting data fusion, entity resolution, record correlation, or graph-based data relationships across multiple disparate intelligence data sources.
  • Experience designing data architectures using graph databases, NoSQL databases, or modern data processing frameworks, including knowledge graph technologies and distributed data processing solutions.
  • Experience developing data visualization interfaces using libraries such as D3.js, Plotly, or equivalent technologies, including the design of complex analytical dashboards and collaborative mission-oriented interfaces.
  • Experience working with unstructured data, including text extraction, metadata enrichment, and automated data classification, with an understanding of scalable data processing architectures and data quality management.
  • Experience defining integration architectures for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI frameworks, and the exchange of fused intelligence data with external AI platforms through APIs.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and automated software deployment, including establishing DevSecOps practices and guiding the implementation of secure, scalable software deployment architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, secure software architecture, authentication, authorization, and secure API development.
  • Experience establishing technical approaches for data provenance, analytical traceability, correlation confidence, and validation of fused intelligence products.
  • Experience developing system architecture documentation, interface specifications, technical roadmaps, and other engineering artifacts supporting complex software development and integration efforts.
  • Experience supporting program execution activities such as staffing plans, technical estimates, budget inputs, schedules, risk management, CDRLs, and customer reporting.
