Full Job Description
The SEI Wealth Platform is seeking to hire a Software Engineer II. This position requires a foundation of software development knowledge, and the ability to work in an Agile team environment. You should be adaptable, possess a wide range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to understand financial services business requirements.

The Configuration Management (CM) Software Engineer collaborates with external and internal teams and is responsible for designing, customizing, and maintaining services configuration and rollout. You will work with various solutions and product managers/ owners in defining and building the configuration requirements to support SEI's technical platforms (client, intermediary and operational) and processes.

These platforms and processes include:
  • Client platform: the technology and business processes that support SEI business units
  • Intermediary platform: the technology and business processes that support SEI's intermediaries (advisors, enterprise and bank)
  • Operational platform: the technology and business processes that support SEI's middle office operational unit
  • Relationship management collaboration: any process and technology (including mobile and web) that allows the interaction between the different interested parties using SEI's platforms (operations, intermediary, relationship management and end-investor)
  • Enterprise Architecture: the databases, workflow, rules engines and business components that constitute SEI's leveraged Enterprise Architecture.

-Integration into back-office processing systems (SEI's and others)

-Integration of third-party portfolio management and analytic systems

What you will do:

You will coordinate with Configuration Management Implementation Leads to create customized business operating model in support of the SWP client firm's use of the Platform. Including:
  • Ongoing configuration changes requested by the various users including client firm users.
  • Production issues related to CM data
  • SME support for respective functional components like PME, Cash, Fees, Tax etc.
  • Maintenance of CM data in baseline and across environments
  • Develop code based on reading and understanding business and functional requirements following the Agile process
  • Produce and test high-quality code to meet all project deadlines and ensuring the functionality matches the requirements as well as all quality gates defined in our code analysis tools
  • Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle; coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team members
  • Provide technical support to project team members and responding to inquiries regarding errors or questions about programs
  • Interact with architects, technical leads, team members and project managers as required to address technical and schedule issues.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements for estimating, development and testing processes.


What we need from you:
  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or another related field or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years prior work experience working with an application development organization; must demonstrate experience delivering systems and projects from inception through implementation
  • Possesses solid software development and programming skills, with an understanding of design patterns, and software development best practices
  • Work experience in developing Web Applications with Java, Java Script, and HTML.
  • Experience with Spring MVC frameworks and Angular/React, typescript, etc is a plus.
  • Hands on experience working on multi-tiered applications that are designed, developed and delivered as cloud- based solutions
  • Designing and developing Cloud Native applications, Creating microservices applications using technologies such as REST, JSON, Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Java
  • Deploying and configuring well performing Cloud Native applications
  • UI Web development framework experience
  • Familiarity with: Relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server
  • Unstructured data and persistence model such as MongoDB, Snowflake
  • ORM tools (EclipseLink, JPA)
  • DevOps toolsets for versioning, containers, such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Maven


Additional knowledge and/or experience desired:
  • Development experience in the financial services industry including banking, wealth management, investment management, asset data and investment processing
  • Possesses Azure, AWS, or OCI certifications Test Driven Development
  • Application migrations to the cloud
  • CI/CD and DevOps concepts, tools like Ansible, Terraform and library management tools like Artifactory
  • Identity Technologies (OAuth, Azure AD, AWS IAM, OKTA, Ping)
  • Experience with event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, and API-first development.
  • Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, or Grafana Angular, Typescript, or React
